SLEEPS 1 - 11 PERSONS IN COMFORT
Hardwood Floors, High Ceilings, Stone, Tile, Brick and Marble combine to provide the ultimate experience when it comes to handsome style and SERIOUS comfort! Enter the living room through the marbled foyer and glimpse sunlight streaming through several tall windows into a living room resplendant with oversized mahoghany tables and deep brown leather furnishings. Built-in floor to ceiling bookcases cradle the fireplace of pink marble matching that in the entryhall. A 30-inch flatscreen, LCD TV with DVD player occupies one corner of the room.
The open floorplan creates a fluid traffic pattern avoiding the bottlenecking typically found in historic homes. Instead, each room on the first floor opens wide onto the others with pass-throughs, archways, and spacious airyness prominent throughout the first floor
whether you're in the entry, Living Room, Dining Room
or Kitchen. A delightful halfbath occupies the end of the marble entryhall.
The Dining Room boasts an antique Dining Table and Chair set. Enjoy meals before it's fireplace framed with black and gold marble. The mantlepiece, re-built during the 2001 restoration, features 400 year old wood
salvaged from the Manor's 1870's original hard pine.
From there, step into the huge, stone and oak kitchen. Warm and spacious with a quaker-esque ambiance. Modern appliances are fit within handmade countertops of 350 - 400 year-old heartpine. And antique, oak, dinette set seats from 4 - 6.
In the rear of the kitchen, three faux-french doors open onto a bi-level deck w/built-in bench seating. Below the deck is a furnished patio encircled by foliage and white rock. The charming landscape includes a brick pathway leading to the rose-covered iron arbor entrance that leads out to the driveway behind it. Iron umbrella table and chairs along with the built-in deck bench provide larger parties plenty of room to enjoy warm Savannah nights. And of course....the Hot Tub is located on the deck of the Manor overlooking the Courtyard so you soak amidst twinkling white lights and
windowboxes filled with foliage that surround it. It is the ultimate in relaxation after a day of sightseeing!
Upstairs on the second floor, choose your bedroom- Each is themed and features a to-die-for-comfortable Queen-sized bed.
The Master Bedroom is styled with an Old World decor. It features a private balcony; attached bath with jetted tub; and walk-in closet, and its own TV/VCR. It is a delightful refuge of privacy and handsome comfort.
Further down the polished wood hallway, two matching Queen-sized Bedrooms mirror one another with quaint, brick fireplaces, polished wooden-plank flooring, built-in mirrored closets, and iron furnishings. The charm and romance of the pink and white "Rosebud" room blends easily with the sterner, yet gracious decor of the black and white "Civil War" room. The latter paying gentle homage to the building of our home in 1870 only a handful of years following the end of the War between the States.
Connecting these two bedrooms are French Doors. Leave open and create a 2 bedroom suite. Leave them locked and you have two separate, private bedrooms.
Open the door at the south end of the hall and find yourself soaked in sunlight as you enter a bathroom with a 6 foot long claw tub that doubles as a shower. The blue-speckled tile floor and white wainscotting surround sparkling white porcelein and 2 large windows.
To ensure convenience throughout your stay, the north end of the hall discretely conceals a stackable Washer and Dryer behind a closet door.
The third floor attic bedroom entrances young and old alike. Slanted ceilings with double dormir windows boasting built-in windowseats cushioned in bright plaids greet you as you climb the stairwell. Hardwood pine floors stretch toward the wide closet occupying the far wall. A writing desk and cozy game center with Nintendo, VCR and TV catch your eye as it travels past the 3 differnt-sized beds.
Each bed flaunts a bright coverlets. Choose from the Iron FULL-sized bed, the iron QUEEN-sized bed, or the TWIN bed. Each with the same high-end, high-quality and fully encased mattresses as the other bedrooms. A hooked rug on the floor and mirror ball hanging from the ceiling both contrast and blend the era of Louisa May Alcott and the 21st century. You'll find yourself smiling each time you return to this rainbow of color.
The Manor fronts East Taylor Street. The front of the Manor is paved in brick and the porch proudly flies the american flag. Iron gas-lights stretch down East Taylor Street to the east. To the west lies Whitefield Square. Flowers and Foliage stretch along the front of
the Ole Manor. Across Taylor Street is the Bricked St Benedict Catholic Church c1800's. Across Broad Street
at the end of beautiful, tree-lined East Taylor Street is Mother Matilda Beasely Park.
You'll find the neighborhood and the neighbors sweet
and will find why Savannah is known as the "City of
Hospitality". BTW...we (the owners) live next door ;)

| We had a lovely stay here for our parents 50th wedding anniversary! The kids held a "disco" party in the "lair" (attic bedroom). The third floor "stayed alive" :).
If you go to the Pirates House, ask for the kids menu for everyone...it includes pirate hats, eye patches and last but not least, mustaches!
We gathered each night in the living room movie night.
love, love, LOVE the house!

| Rock n Roll Marathoners...this Estate ROCKED!
Thank you so much for allowing us crazy group of marathon runners to occupy the house. The house was AWESOME and the home was everything we could have imagined and more for historic Savannah. The Hot Tub felt AMAZING after the run! Will definitely keep you all in mind when we come back to Savannah to run again (or maybe relax) :) Thanks again!

| We enjoyed so much staying in your beautiful home in Lovely Savannah. We came in to celebrate our brother's wedding and had a wonderful time.
Your home is so nice! It is the perfect size for a large family gathering.
The furnishings are beautiful and we were able to find everything we needed. Thanks again and again.

| We enjoyed the historic flavor and ambiance of the Taylor Manor House - especially since our entire family could spend the time together.
Our time together was made even more special because of our son's wedding and the presence of family from many places including the Philippines.
A never-to-be-forgotten experience.

| We usually cruise every year for our vacation, but this year our schedule just didn't allow it. We wanted to do something different for vacation before our daughter went back to college...so it was my job(Margie) to find us something and someplace we've never been.....
We stayed in the cottage and there was plenty of room for us all. We loved the fact it was so centrally located and we were able to walk to most our destinations. We loved Jones Street! Our daughter is already saving her money to buy a house there! Thank goodness she's a Bio/Chem-Pharmacy Major!
We loved the special details that you provided for us....like the Damask printed book with all the info about the grocery, restaurants and sightseeing (with personal notes written on most). The linens, pillows and beds are to die for!! Made it hard to leave in the mornings...but we had so much to see!
We originally were going to eat out once a day and grab a sandwich at the cottage for lunch! We enjoyed hanging out there so much (plus we were soooo tired) We actually only ate out one time, at the Pirate's House. We used the grill in the nice little court yard area in the evenings and grilled steak one night and burgers another. The kitchen is pretty awesome and well equipped too! =)
We will definitely be back! Savannah is our new favorite place! A nice mix between Key West and New Orleans and a WHOLE lot cleaner! =)
God Bless!

| We had a fantastic stay here in Savannah mostly due to your hospitality of providing our "home" away from home. It was very relaxing to return to after our very busy days on-the-go. We all had a very enjoyable time This is my 3rd trip here to Savannah with this one having the best accommodations by far. We want to thank you for being a part of our troop's memories! Sandi -Troop Leader Additional Comments( from the girls themselves): This house is beautiful! I love everything about it! Savannah is just a beautiful city to live in/visit in. This is my 2nd trip here to Savannah and this house is wonderful, just like this wonderful city! Stay Golden, Alicia. Well I'll start off saying your house is absolutely beautiful. You are a fantastic interior decorator :). I love the set up of the house. All us 5 teenagers stayed in the attic. It was fun to have privacy which we wouldn't have as much in a hotel. Your kitchen is AMAZING!!! Very roomy and I felt very at home here! Me and my Mom pretty much think this is our dream house. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! It made our stay in Savannah that much better! Sincerely, Jamie Just wanted to let you know what wonderful time I had in Savannah with my daughter. We loved your home!! I would love to come back with some of my family and stay for a week. Thanks! Jamie's Mom, Dee. I really enjoyed staying in this house. This is a beautiful house and makes me feel at home. I loved how the floors were set up. All the girls got to sleep together in the same room. The beds (well at least mine) were SO comfortable! I loved staying here. Thank you for sharing your house with us! Thanks again, Allie

| lovely retreat!
Truly, we enjoyed our stay! We were close enough to stroll to all the many attractions. Yet, far enough away to peacefully wake up to birds singing. The accommodations were clean, relaxing, and very charming. The owners were just delightful. We are looking forward to returning to this lovely retreat! Sophia Forester April 11, 2011 |
| Beautiful in the Spring!
Thank you ‘Savannah Historic Hideaways’, This was a perfect location for dear friends to gather. Fourteen ladies, from all over Savannah, gathered together for three days, two nights in this elegant, spacious Historic District Manor, what a treat. Centrally located, I was thrilled to walk to all of our destinations. Several new treasures found by traveling on foot, Crystal Beer Parlor, est.1933, fun shops in the Downtown Design District on Jones Street, and the amazing beauty of this charming city in the early morning hours. Suzanne, thank you for your hospitality and providing the many details that make a getaway great, knowing where to go, what to wear, providing the comforts of home, crisp clean beds and bath, full size kitchen with amenities, and many common areas for laughter and visiting. If you only have a day in Savannah, you must visit, Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House(cash or check only), St. Johns Cathedral, some sort of walking tour or trolley tour, Gallery Espresso(coffee house), Forsyth Park, Crystal Beer Parlor(specialty, cheese burger w/fries), and all things chocolate at Lulu’s Chocolate Bar on MLK. Looking forward to our next visit,
Having the "time of our lives"! Janey Miley April 6, 2011 |

| Our family of 14, from Virgenia, Georgia, Florida, and Texas had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Savannah. LOVED the location of your home- we were able to walk everywhere. Our 2 dogs loved running in the dog park nearby and we had fun playing a very spirited game of Taboo and watching some great football! Thank you for your hospitality! The Jacobsons Nov 28, 2010 |
| We just returned from a Visit to Savannah with our Girl Scout Troup - all 18 of us. The houses were wonderful. We all fit comfortably in the Manor House and the Carriage House. The house was located close enough to downtown that we were able to walk whereever we needed. Best of all we Never ran out of hot water! If I'm ever in Savannah again, I will defiantly be staying here! Julie Ruggles July 2010 |
| A group of 9 women chose to return to Savannah for our annual Sisterchicks getaway. I found this property on VRBO and it was perfect for our trip. We stayed in The Manor and enjoyed its comfy beds & pillows, the homey touches including throws and games, the well stocked kitchen and the large table in the dining room where we could all sit at one time! The Manor was decorated beautifully and it was fun to stay in a home built in the 1870s. We were very pleased and would highly recommend this property

| A bunch of my girlfriends and I rented the house for a long weekend in October and we had a great time. The dining room, huge kitchen, outdoor patio and grill were perfect for dinners together. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us and everything was walking distance or a very short cab ride. It was the perfect house for us to have a reunion and many great memories were made here! We will definitely be coming back! Lindsey Messick

| pleasantly surprised.
For years my mother has wanted to get my sisters, my aunt and my cousin together for a girls weekend...It finally happened. We decided to rent a house, with a little hesitation on how well it would accomodate 7 "Alpha" women. To my surprise it was THE perfect venue for our get-together. It was so perfect that we only went out to eat once and preferred making our own meals and just hanging out in this wonderful home. The manor offered a large kitchen great living space, very comfortable beds and the location allowed us to walk just about everywhere. The owners were very accomodating and even gave us a basket of cheese and crackers as well as a nice bottle of wine...yum! Ann Walton October 21, 2009 |
| Thank you, Our stay in your home was a relaxing experience. The convenience made travel in your city a breeze! Your home is a treasure box, each room shared love and care throughout the house. The Manor has been made into a home...the walls say welcome; the chairs say sit down, take a seat, and relax; the kitchen says use me for your service. The work, the details of every room...absolutely Marvelous! Triple Thank You for allowing us to use your lovely home for our girlfriend's weekend getaway! Beautiful Home, Great Location, Loved it! | Our Girl Scout troop came to Savannah and we thank you so much for making the experience one the girls will never forget...or their leaders! Such fun we had! We took the free cat shuttle all over the downtown and enjoyed mass at St John's Cathedral. The girls really had a ball at the beach. Having us all together in your big, beautiful home was fantastic...much better than a hotel. Your home was perfect and Savannah lived up to it's reputation for southern hospitality. We will recommend you over and over again!!! GS Troop 121, Fairbanks, AK

| My stay at your home(It felt like I was at home) was great! The house had all the wonderful comforts of being at home. The rooms were decorated so beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. From the little touches of books to read and games to play to the huge comforts of televisions and dvd players, it made our trip to Savannah wonderful. The idea of having a complete kitchen with dishes and pans to having movies to watch, it was great. Thank you for having such an awesome place to stay within walking distance of so much of the city of Savannah. Pickel Ballwin, MO July 22,2009 |
| We came to Savannah to celebrate our son's wedding. Staying in your beautiful home added greatly to our wonderful Savannah memories. The location of the Manor was perfect. Your attention to detail and the comfortable furnishings made time spent at the house completely relaxing. During our "wedding downtime" when we weren't walking about the city, we enjoyed the board games...the kids loved the dress up box and Nintendo upstairs. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home. We enjoyed your southern hospitality tremendously! Ed and Mackey Green (GA)
|
| You have such a lovely house! It is decorated so beautifully. We couldn't believe all of the attention to detail from the plush towels to the sweet smelling soaps! We came for our sons SCAD graduation and we hope to stay with you again the next time we're in town. The Wilson family
|
| We just returned from the Lady and Sons restaurant...a very good buffet. We walked our tootsies off all over town. The beaches at Tybee Island were clean and
the "big swim" at Beaufort was such fun to see. The visitors center was very helpful to us. We so enjoyed our stay in your lovely home! Thanks for sharing it with us. It was perfect for our family reunion. The Hirsts, Gail Turner, Gloria Carlyle, The Straits, Joanne and Family, The Gabrieles, and Victor, Ryan
